PAUL DA SERRA

O Paul da Serra está localizado na parte centro-ocidental da ilha entre os 1300-1500 metros de altitude.

É o local mais plano de toda a ilha da Madeira e tem vistas fabulosas sobre as verdes montanhas e os diferentes vales sendo que em dias de boa visibilidade  é possível ver o mar da costa sul e o mar da costa norte.

Sendo o maior e mais extenso planalto da Ilha da Madeira com cerca de 24 Km quadrados,  seu ponto mais elevado é o Pico Ruivo do Paul, com 1640 metros, de onde pode admirar a extensão de todo este planalto.

Aqui iniciam-se várias levadas e caminhadas que  ligam a diferentes pontos da ilha através da floresta Laurissilva, tais como o Rabaçal, Risco, 25 Fontes, entre outros.

Paul da Serra is located in the central-west of the island between 1300-1500 meters high.

It is a planest location of the entire island of Madeira and it has fabulous views over the green mountains and the different valleys, being that in a day with good visibility and no clouds it is possible to see both the sea at the south and north coast.

It is the largest and most extensive plateau of Madeira Island with about 24 square miles. Its highest point is Pico Ruivo do Paul, with 1640 meters high, where you can admire the extent of the whole plateau.

Here is the place where several Levadas (watercourses) and other routes begin connecting several points of the island through the Laurissilva forest, suche as Rabaçal, Risco, 25 Fontes, among others.

Paul da Serra liegt im westlichen Zentralmassiv der Insel auf 1300-1500 Höhenmeter.

Es ist das flachste Gebiet der gesamten Insel und bietet einen herrlichen Blick über grüne Berge und die einzelnen Täler - an klaren Tagen kann man gleichzeitig das Meer an Süd- und Nordküste erblicken.

Es handelt  sich um die größte und umfangreichste Hochebene der Insel Madeira mit ca. 24 km² Ausdehnung, von deren höchsten Punkt aus, dem Pico Ruivo do Paul mit 1640m, Sie den gesamten Umfang des Hochplateaus bewundern können.

Von hier gehen viele Levada-Wanderungen aus, welche die verschiedenen Teile der Insel durch den Lorbeerwald miteinander verbinden, wie z.B. Rabaçal, Risco, 25 Fontes (25 Quellen), unter anderem.
