A festa da lapa é um importante evento popular que tem lugar na pitoresca freguesia do Paul do Mar. Promove a herança cultural desta freguesia do Concelho da Calheta, onde a lapa apresenta-se como um dos recursos das suas gentes que sempre estiveram ligadas à actividade da pesca.
Acontece anualmente durante três dias do mês de Julho, e dá a conhecer um dos mariscos mais capturados nos nossos mares, sendo um importante segmento da economia na nossa região.
A programação da festa da lapa apresenta uma diversificada animação de cariz etnográfico, com grupos ligados à música tradicional , reforçando desta forma e a todos os seus visitantes, um ambiente totalmente genuíno da cultura local.
A festa prolonga-se por 3 noites e é repleta de entretenimento, concertos, pratos tradicionais, incluindo como não poderia deixar de ser as lapas frescas grelhadas com manteiga, alho e sumo de limão.
Limpet Festival
Limpet festival is an important popular event that takes place in the pitoresc parish of Paul do Mar. Napfschnecken-Fest
Das Napfschnecken-Fest ist ein wichtiges Volksfest in der pittoresken Gemeinde Paúl do Mar.
Hierbei steht das kulturelle Erbe dieser Gemeinde im Kreis Calheta im Mittelpunkt, für deren Einwohner - seit jeher mit der Fischerei verbunden- die Napfschnecke eine wichtige Ressource darstellt.
Das Fest findet jährlich an drei Tagen im Juli statt und stellt eine der in heimischen Gewässern am meisten gefangenen Meeresfrucht vor, welche einen wichtigen Wirtschaftsfaktor für die Region bildet.
Das Festival präsentiert ein abwechslungsreiches Unterhaltungsprogramm volkstümlichen Ursprungs mit traditionellen Musikgruppen und lässt für alle Teilnehmenden ein Ambiente voll authentischer, lokaler Kultur entstehen.
Das Fest setzt sich in den drei Nächte fort und wird vollendet durch Unterhaltung, Konzerte und traditionelle Gerichte, darunter - wie könnte es nicht anders sein - frisch gegrillte Napfschnecken mit Butter, Knoblauch und Zitronensaft.
