MARCHAS DE SÃO JOÃO

O programa das comemorações do aniversário do dia do Concelho da Calheta inclui o seu ponto mais alto para os naturais e visitantes, o desfile das marchas alusivas ao santo Senhor São João que envolvem  seiscentos figurantes representativos das oito freguesias do Município e atraem à Calheta milhares de pessoas que enchem por completo a avenida D. Manuel I, contribuindo para que esta noite seja muito animada e assuma já como um dos eventos de cartaz turístico do Município da Calheta. 

A qualidade tem vindo a aumentar ano após ano, sendo as coreografias de cada freguesia baseadas nos usos e costumes, contribuindo para a divulgação e preservação dos mesmos. Ultimamente alguns canais de televisão têm transmitido esta manifestação popular para os seus telespectadores.

ST JOHN PARADE

The Calheta anniversary celebrations program culminates to all residents and visitors in the St. John parade involving six hundred people representing the eight parishes of Calheta and attracts to Calheta thousands of people who fill completely the D. Manuel I Avenue, contributing to an entertaining evening that already become a tourist attraction. The quality has been increasing year after year, being the choreography of each parish based on local customs and traditions, contributing to their dissemination and preservation. Lately, some local communication channels, including television, have been broadcasting this popular event.

MÄRSCHE ANLÄSSLICH DES HL. JOHANNES (MARCHAS DE SÃO JOÃO)

Das Programm zu den Feierlichkeiten des Jahrestages von Calheta findet seinen Höhepunkt für alle Einheimischen und Besucher in der Parade anlässlich des heiligen Johannes, an welcher sechshundert Statisten aus acht Gemeinden des Verwaltungskreises teilnehmen. Tausende Menschen, die jedes Jahr nach Calheta kommen und die Avenida D. Manuel I vollständig ausfüllen, leisten ihren Beitrag zu einem wirklich unterhaltsamen Abend, der bereits als touristische Hauptattraktion des Veranstaltungskalenders von Calheta gilt. Die Qualität der Darbietung konnte kontinuierlich von Jahr zu Jahr gesteigert werden  und die dargebrachten Choreographien jeder Gemeinde basieren auf deren Sitten und Gebräuche, die dadurch weiter Verbreitung finden und bewahrt werden. In den letzten Jahren haben bereits einige TV-Kanäle dieses Volksmanifest für ihre Zuschauer ausgestrahlt.
