25 FONTES

O percurso para as 25 fontes tem o seu início na  Casa do Rabaçal, por uma vereda estreita seguindo depois o caminho da Levada.

Também conhecida pela levada nova  do  Rabaçal, teve as suas primeiras   águas, a correr,   no   dia   16  de Setembro  de  1855,  vindo  do   Norte para  o  Sul,  e  possibilitando  desta forma o  aproveitamento  destas  para  a rega  de  muitos  terrenos  agrícolas  no Concelho da Calheta.

O percurso tem uma extensão de cerca de 4,6 km, sendo possível apreciar as belas paisagens até chegar à lagoa das 25 Fontes, esta última  formada pelas águas  que  descem  do  Paul da Serra e que   aparecem    misteriosamente   por detrás da parede rochosa.

 

Assim e neste local poderá  deslumbrar visualmente de mais  de  25 fontes que  ao caírem na lagoa proporcionam ao visitante um agradável momento de  plena integração com a natureza local.

Esta  área está integrada na mancha de floresta Laurissilva da Madeira, situada no   coração   da   ilha   e   é   classificada  como Património Mundial Natural pela UNESCO.

Nota: Apesar do percurso não ser difícil, em alguns locais a vereda é bastante estreita e não tem protecção, pelo que não é aconselhável a pessoas com vertigens.

25 FONTES Levada Walk (25 Fountains)

The 25 Fontes levada walk begins in the House of Rabaçal and goes on through a narrow path.

Also known by the new Rabaçal levada walk, it held its first waters running on September 16, 1855, coming from North to South, and thus enabling the use of these waters for many agricultural lands in the municipality of Calheta.

This levada walk  has a length of  4.6 km, and it is possible to enjoy the beautiful scenery until reaching the lake of 25 Fontes, the latter formed by the waters that come from Paul da Serra and mysteriously appear from behind the rock wall.

Thus in this site people will be visually dazzled because of the more than 25 fountains that fall into the lake and give the visitor a pleasant moment of full integration with the local nature.

This area is part of the Madeira’s Laurissilva Forest, located in the heart of the island and is also classified as a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO.

Note: Although this levada walk is not difficult, there are some places where the path is quite narrow and has no protection, so it is not advisable for people with vertigo.

25 FONTES (25 Quellen)


Der Wanderweg zu den 25 Fontes (25 Quellen) nimmt seinen Ausgang beim Schutzhaus von Rabaçal und folgt einer Levada (Wasserlauf) entlang eines schmalen Pfades.

In diesem Wasserlauf, der auch neue Levada von Rabaçal genannt wird, rann zum ersten Mal am 16. September 1855 Wasser von Norden kommend nach Süden und durch dessen Inbetriebnahme wurde die Bewässerung vieler landwirtschaftlicher Flächen in der Gemeinde Calheta sichergestellt.

Der Wanderweg erstreckt sich über eine Länge von ca. 4,6km, entlang derer man die schöne Landschaft genießen kann, bis man zum Wasserbecken der 25 Fontes (25 Quellen) gelangt, in dem sich herabstürzende Gewässer vom Paul da Serra sammeln, welche mysteriös aus den Ritzen der Felswand erscheinen.

Hier können Sie sich am Anblick der mehr als 25 Quellen erfreuen, welche sich glucksend in den kleinen See ergießen und dem Besucher anregende Momente in völligem Einklang mit der Natur bescheren.

Dieses Gebiet ist Bestandteil des Laurissilva (Lorbeerwaldes) im Herzen von Madeira, welcher von der UNESCO als Weltnaturerbe klassifiziert wurde.

Hinweis: Obwohl die Wanderung an sich keine Schwierigkeiten aufweist, ist der Weg an manchen Stellen sehr schmal und hat keine Schutzvorrichtungen, so dass eine Begehung  für Menschen mit Höhenangst nicht empfehlenswert ist.

PASSEIOS | JARDIM DO MAR - PRAZERES

Com saída do Largo do Jardim do Mar e seguindo o caminho que vai para oeste, inicia-se este passeio. Ainda no interior da freguesia e em direcção à montanha, irá encontrar o moinho de água que outra hora moía o trigo para obter a farinha.

Passando por plantações de bananeiras e de papaias, este circuito começa a ser mais íngreme deparando-se inicialmente com locais húmidos devido às muitas nascentes que surgem do interior da rocha e que daí caiem livremente, atravessando o caminho.

Este percurso na sua primeira etapa leva-nos até  junto do miradouro desta localidade proporcionando uma bela panorâmica sobre esta pequena freguesia situada de frente para a imensidão do oceano atlântico.

Continuando a subir e em direcção ao Lombo Grande, começa-se a sentir o chão a ficar mais seco, sendo o seu declive muito mais acentuado. O fim do percurso culmina com a chegada ao pé do miradouro situado  na freguesia dos Prazeres. Aqui sobe a estrada em calçada até ao cruzamento com a estrada regional.

FOOTPATH – Jardim do Mar | Prazeres

This footpath starts at the Largo of Jardim do Mar and goes west towards Prazeres. Still in the parish of Jardim do Mar and towards the mountain, it is possible to see the water mill that was used to make wheat flour.

Going through the banana and papayas plantations, this circuit begins to be steeper due to some humid groung areas originated by fountains that emerge from inside the rock and then fall freely, crossing the path.

The path goes on until a panoramic viewpoint that provides a beautiful view of this small town situated in front of the immensity of the Atlantic sea.

Continuing to climb towards the Lombo Grande, the soil becomes drier, but also steeper. The end of the path culminates with the arrival at the Prazeres viewpoint. From here there is a road pavement until the junction with the regional road.

FUSSEWEG - Jardim do Mar | Prazeres

Der Wanderweg nimmt seinen Ausgang am Platz in Jardim do Mar und führt von dort aus Richtung Westen. Noch innerhalb der Gemeinde in Richtung Steilhang kommt man an der Wassermühle vorbei, wo in früheren Zeiten Weizen zu Mehl verarbeitet wurde.

Durch Bananen- und Papayaplantagen hindurch wird dieser Fußweg zunehmend steiler und man stößt zunächst auf feuchtere Gebiete aufgrund des vielen Quellwassers, das aus dem Inneren der Felsen hervorkommt und nach freiem Fall die Wege willkürlich quert.

Dieser erste Abschnitt des Weges führt uns zum Aussichtspunkt der Gemeinde, welcher einen wunderschönen Panoramablick auf das kleine Örtchen vor der unendlichen Weite des Atlantiks gewährt.

Indem wir weiter hochsteigen in Richtung Lombo Grande, beginnt der Boden unter uns trockener zu werden und der Abhang steiler. Wir erreichen das Ende und den Höhepunkt des Wanderwegs mit der Ankunft am Aussichtspunkt der Gemeinde Prazeres. Von hier aus führt eine gepflasterte Straße bis zur Kreuzung der Landstraße.

FESTA DO PÊRO




A Ponta do Pargo distingue-se das restantes freguesias da ilha, pela extensão da sua planura. 
A freguesia mantém o encanto durante a totalidade do ano, sendo que além das principais festas religiosas, a Festa do Pêro constitui o maior certame desta localidade mais a oeste.

Esta festa de carácter rural, reúne muitos agricultores de várias regiões do Concelho da Calheta que transformam a produção do pêro num evento tradicional muito animado e de grande projecção, onde inclusivamente poderá fazer as provas  da típica bebida, a  Sidra.

Mercê da qualidade aromática do famoso pêro desta região, alguns escritores antigos referem que o seu perfume chegava a ser detectado pelos navios quando ainda em mar alto se dirigiam para a Madeira.

Esta festa é acompanhada das habituais barracas, tornando-se num animado arraial, onde não falta também o tradicional cortejo e as várias exposições com os respectivos frutos.

Festa do Pêro (Apple Festival)

Ponta do Pargo stands out from the remaining parish councils for the extension of its tableland. The civil parish keeps its charm all year round, and hosts several religious festivities. Festa do Pêro (Apple Festival) is the largest exhibition of the municipality.

This rural festival brings together many farmers from several parts of the municipality of Calheta that transform the apple production in a traditional and well-know celebration, where it is possible to taste the typical drink – the Cider.

Thanks to the aromatic quality of this region famous apple, some ancient writers mentioned that its perfume was even detected by the ships while still sailing the high seas towards Madeira Island.

This popular festival has the usual food and drink stalls, the traditional parade and also several fruit exhibitions.

Festa do Pêro (Apfel-Festival)

Ponta do Pargo unterscheidet sich von anderen Gemeinden der Insel durch die große Ausdehnung ihrer Hochebene.

Die Gemeinde hat das ganze Jahr über Charme, findet jedoch ihren gesellschaftlichen Höhepunkt nebst wichtiger, religiöser Feste im Apfel-Festival, welches die größte Veranstaltung dieses im äußersten Westen gelegenen Ortes ist.

Dieses Fest mit ländlichem Charakter bringt viele Landwirte aus verschiedensten Regionen der Verwaltungsgemeinde Calheta zusammen, welche die Apfel-Produktion und Verarbeitung in eine Veranstaltung mit viel Traditionsreichtum, Animation und großer Reichweite umformen, auf der man unter anderem den typischen Cidre (Apfelwein) verkosten kann.

Dank des qualitätsvollen Aromas des berühmten Apfels der Region kann man sogar bei einigen altertümlichen Autoren nachlesen, dass deren Duft bereits auf Schiffen wahrgenommen werden konnte, die noch auf hoher See Madeira ansteuerten.

Dieses Festival wird mit üblichen Verkaufsständen umrahmt, die einen geschäftigen Festplatz entstehen lassen, auf dem die traditionelle Parade und unterschiedlichste Ausstellungen mit den entsprechenden Früchten nicht fehlen dürfen.
